After retiring from pole vaulting in 2016, Michelle was elected to serve 8 years on the International Olympic Committee’s Athletes’ Commission. The commission is maintained by the IOC in order to represent athletes and provide them a link to the IOC.

Only 12 members are voted in every eight years, and usually shortly after you are elected you become a member of the IOC as well, which is a huge honor for current and retired athletes.
