All you really need to know is that these two life-long Celtics played in Boston during the 1950s and 1960s, even though Cousy missed most of the 60s, opting to retire. During the seven season that Cousy and Russell played together in Boston, the Celtics won six championships. That one season they didn’t win a championship together, 1957-58, Boston had lost to the St. Louis Hawks in the Finals. After Cousy retired, Russell would go on to win five more championships, including several with John Havlicek,  withi whom he’s part another duo that made this list.
