It was a regular season game in 1978 between Oakland and San Diego. Oakland was trailing by six with ten seconds left in the game. The Raiders’ quarterback was moments from being sacked when he fumble and Pete Banaszak, Oakland’s running back who happened to be near near the fumble, pushed forward the ball, towards Dave Casper, their tight end. Casper was able to knock the ball over the line to the end zone and then jump on top of it, for a touchdown. The referee, Jerry Markbreit, let the play stand, and the Raiders would win 21-20.
