The Curse of the Bambino is one of the most well-known curses in the history of Sports. In 1919, the Boston Red Sox and Harry Frazee sold Babe Ruth, the Bambino, to their rivals the New York Yankees. That sale would bring on 86 years without a World Series win for Boston, while the Yankees would go on to enjoy great success, winning 26 World Series Championships. Before the sale, the Sox had a history of winning. It wasn’t actually labeled a curse until the 90s, but at that point it had already been 70 years. Boston was finally able to break the curse in 2004, and won two more after.
