This curse belongs to the 1951 Mayo soccer team from Ireland. As the legend goes, in 1951, the Mayo team were returning after winning the All-Ireland game, and reached a funeral in a town near Castlebar. Some of the players supposedly angered the priest, who cursed them in return, saying they will never win another All-Ireland while members of this specific squad are still alive. Mayo have come up second several times over the years, but never won. There are still two members of the 1951 team who remain alive.
