[post_page_title]The curse of Coogan’s Bluff[/post_page_title]
The Curse of Coogan’s Bluff goes back to the year the Giants moved from New York to San Francisco. Coogan’s Bluff itself is a site at the Polo Grounds, their old stadium, in Harlem, where they won five titles. The site had a plaque honoring the first baseball player killed during WWI, Eddie Grant. When the Dodgers left, fans ransacked the site and the plaque was lost. We all know what came after, the team moved out west and they didn’t fare well, losing three times in the World Series. In 2006, a replica was placed in AT&T Park and in 2010 they finally broke the curse, winning a World Series.
