French cyclist Jeannie Longo competed until she was 52 years old. Longo is considered one of the greatest female cyclists of all time if not the greatest. She competed in seven straight Olympics, from 1984 through 2008, winning a gold, two silvers and a bronze. She won the bronze in 2000, when she was 41 years old. She won her 55th French Championship title when she was 49 and continued competing even after her final Olympic appearance.
