Malaika Mihambo is a German track and field star. Her athleticism comes from a mix of her German father and her Tanzanian mother who originally hails from Zanzibar (her family vacations must be the BEST!). Her first ever major international competition was at the 2011 World Youth Championships which were held in Lille, France, where she finished in ninth place. She also completed, but did not final in, both the the 2012 and the 2013 World Championships.
