Chelsea Jaensch made her competitive debut at the older age of 31 – an age when the vast majority of athletes in her position would be retiring. She used to compete a lot when she was younger, but stopped track and field in order to focus on her education as well as playing a game called netball (like basketball but British and specially designed for women). She eventually came back to long jumping where she made quite a splash.
