Despite her unfortunate results in Beijing, Balta kept on pushing and ended up winning the silver medal at the World Athletics Final held that same year. She then went on to win the gold medal at the European Indoor Championships the very next year in 2009. Balta made another appearance at an Olympic games in Rio de Janeiro in 2016, and she got sixth place in the long jump. She most recently came in fifth place in the European Indoor Championships and 26th place in the World Championships.
