Lynique Prinsloo has continued to compete after taking a two year break from competitions between the years of 2013 to 2016. She then went off to compete in Brazzaville, the capital of the central African country The Republic of Congo in the African Games, winning fifth place. She then got picked to go to Rio de Janeiro to represent her country in the Summer Olympics there, but only placed 33rd. However, she did place sixth in the 2017 Universiade which took place in Taiwan.
