Erin Mielzynski has continued to compete in international skiing competitions, winning her first ever world cup race in 2012. It was a historic race for Canada, as no Canadian had won a World Cup race since 2008. Additionally, it was the first time that a Canadian woman had won a World Cup slalom race since Betsy Clifford won in Austria over four decades previous to Mielzynski. Still competing, Mielzynski eventually won herself a silver medal at the Skiing World Championships.
