Georgia Simmerling was forced to switch from alpine skiing to cross country skiing following a severe injury which broke three back and neck vertebrae. She got healthy again, and soon went on to compete in the World Cup for cross country skiing, eventually competing for the Canadians in the 2014 Winter Olympics in Sochi where she came in 10th place. However, she was injured again, forcing her to go into biking, a sport in which she medaled both at the London and the Rio Olympic games.
