Lindsey may have been born and bred in Minnesota, but it would be a skiing trip to Vail, Colorado which was to change her life forever. Having been on skis since she could walk, her family took her on a vacation to Colorado where she caught the eye of skiing legend Picabo Street. Street took Vonn under her wing, teaching her how to compete and how to win. This led to Vonn winning a bronze medal and two silvers in the Junior World Ski Championships in 2003 and 2004.
