Cindy Nelson is a Minnesota girl through and through, having been born in the town of Lutsen, Minnesota. She was basically born on the slopes, as her parents were the owners of the local skiing site. This led to her first starting to ski by the age of three, and instilled in her a lifelong love of the sport. She was so attuned to the skiing life that she was drafted on to the US Women’s Ski Team by the age of 16.
