Hailey Duke had one of the more interesting paths to the slopes that we have ever heard. Starting out as a Taekwondo aficionado, she eventually got into skiing, specifically the slalom race. Duke continued to push herself, and during the 2009-2010 season she even got a chance to participate in the World Cup, coming in eighth place in the slalom competition. The points she gained in these races, amongst others (including one north of the Arctic Circle) would enable her to go and participate in her first Olympics.
