In the United States during World War II, the men went off to war, and the women took their jobs in the factories doing the manual labor. The most famous of these women-workers is Rosie the Riveter, but here we have pictured a different female riveter.
This woman is working on a P-38 Lightning airplane for the Lockheed Corporation. Aircrafts were in high demand during the war, and this woman, along with thousands of others, became a crucial factor in the victory of the United States in the war.
