[post_page_title]Tsunami – 2004[/post_page_title]
A photographer captured the moment that an enormous tsunami struck the island of Ao Nang in Thailand. The tsunami was caused by an earthquake near Sumatra, Indonesia.
A series of tsunamis were triggered, and it is estimated at least 230,000 people died because of the colossal waves across a total of 14 countries. Public support for aid was high and, for example, the UK public alone raised almost $600,000,000 which outweighed the contribution by the British government.
