[post_page_title]Janet Guthrie -1967[/post_page_title]
Janet Guthrie really put the speed in to speed-racer. Born in 1938, Janet was the first woman to ever qualify, as well as compete, in two of the most famous car races in the United States of America – the Indianapolis 500 and the Daytona 500.
Janet really had a way of driving head first to smash that glass ceiling! Not only was Janet an accomplished driver, but she also was an aerospace engineer before she ever got into the racing game. Janet was truly a renaissance woman!
